Beede Named MHS Assistant Principal for SY2024/25

USD 418 is pleased to announce that Ms. Melissa Beede will serve as Assistant Principal of McPherson High Schools, effective July 1, 2024.


When asked what she looks forward to, Ms. Beede shared the following: “ I am looking forward to working with the staff to find new instructional strategies to empower students to be their best.   I am so excited to come back to McPherson and work with the amazing educators we have. There are so many excellent teachers who work tirelessly for students.  It is also special because I get to be with my son for his senior year.”

Ms. Beede is returning to McPherson Public Schools, where she served as a 2nd grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary School from 2006 through 2021. She transitioned to be an instructional coach in USD 308 for the 2021-22 school year, and has since served as the principal of South Hutchinson Elementary.

Dr. Audrey Herbst, McPherson High School Principal stated, "We are very excited to welcome Ms. Beede as an assistant principal. Her experience as a teacher, instructional coach, and principal will be invaluable for the support of students and staff. Her extensive educational background will enrich our learning environment by supporting a positive learning environment, empowering teachers, and helping students achieve their highest potential."

Dr. Shiloh Vincent added, “Ms. Beede was incredibly impactful as a classroom teacher in McPherson and we are looking forward to having her rejoin the McPherson Public Schools team in this new role. She brings a strong foundation in instruction and leadership that will elevate the MHS team. I look forward to seeing how she helps the students and staff find their greatness in the coming years.”
